AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Allameh Mohammadnejad, an Iranian Sunni cleric, in a statement, described the recent statement issued by Egypt’s Al-Azhar University condemning the military actions of the Islamic Republic of Iran as “scurrilous, illegitimate, and a clear innovation in opposition to the Holy Quran.”
In his statement, he wrote, “The silence of Egypt’s Al-Azhar University in the face of the crimes of the United States and Israel against the Iranian people, and its condemnation of the legitimate defense of an oppressed Iran, is a manipulation of public opinion and a deception of awakened consciences.”
In another part of the statement, the cleric noted that in Al-Azhar’s statement, “a manipulation of terms such as peace and the sanctity of blood” and a portrayal of Israel as the victim can be observed. “This statement was issued at a time when the disbelievers and the Jews are being punished and disciplined,” he emphasized.
